Can’t always get what you want

June26

What I wanted for lunch:

That would be a filet-o-fish, fries, and throw in a chocolate shake for some calcium. (I googled photos of the fish sandwiches…when did they start putting cheese on them? That is foul! Of course, I think their tartar sauce is foul too and order it plain.)

What I had for lunch:

That would be a big salad with broccoli, carrots, chicken, and feta (if anyone dares tell me I shouldn’t be eating feta I will hunt you down – I’ve given up nicotine, alcohol, and caffeine…leave my unpasteurized soft cheese alone). And a peach for dessert. Woohoo. And people wonder why pregnant women are grumpy? It is 90 degrees outside and, despite pregnancy, guilt still keeps me from eating the crap I really want.  Those are 2 sound reasons in my hormone addled mind.

When I was pregnant I ate an entire large cheese, black olive and mushroom pizza throughtout the course of one day.
I saw my sister in law eat 2 cheeseburgers, a hot dog, and a tomato and mayo sandwich, and an assortment of sides in one sitting at a family reunion.
My sister at an entire cake from Johnny’s in one weekend when she was pregnant.
My other sister-in-law at four peices of cake at Emily’s birthday party last year when she was pregnant.

I tell you this b/c a Filet O’ Fish, some fries and a shake sounds pretty reasonable to me considering you could be in the bakery of a grocery store randomly shoving anything and everything into your mouth despite being followed by a security guard and a very nervous manager who repeatedly asks you to leave as his voice cracks and he ducks for cover as you throw the nearest cupcake at him. My point is this – Eat the McDonalds!!! You owe it to yourself and all of the potential innocent bystanders.

Hang in there sister it is almost done!!

Eat! Eat! Eat! Girlfriend… now is the guilt free time to get it all in!
My craving happened to be fruit ( with #1) but I ate an entire SAM’s flat of strawberries in one sitting… and 1/2 a watermelon the next day in one sitting! Not to mention that nightly ice cream was a must!!!

Man girl, you dug deep and found willpower that I don’t have. I keep giving in to my cravings and I am not even pregnant. If I keep gaining like I have been I may look like it soon though.

I lived on Micky D’s while pregnant. It was the only thing I could keep down. I used to hide in my car at lunch and scarf down one or two cheeseburgers because I didn’t want to hear the coworkers comments about my eating.
