I need a babysitter

November4

For me.  I need a responsible adult who will listen to my plans for the day and then smack me.  My moms club decided to have a zoo outing today.  I thought that sounded great despite my exhausted, frazzled state.  I thought that Tessa would sleep through it despite the fact that she is determined the prove the books wrong – she don’t need no stinking 16 hours of sleep per day.  And I thought Sabrina would have fun despite her spectacular need to be very 2 right now.

Want to guess who enjoyed this beautiful fall day at the zoo? (Fall – pffft – it is 76 degrees here today.)

Perhaps Tessa?

Nope.  She screamed from the moment we walked through the gates until we stepped foot into the parking lot to find the car at which time she promptly fell asleep.

Sabrina?

Wrong again.  She spent the entire 2 hours whining for fruit snacks and crackers because she equates the stroller with the snacks I used to keep her quiet during 9 months of doctors appointments while I was pregnant.

Perhaps I enjoyed walking through the lovely zoo in this wonderful weather?

Does this look like the face of a happy momma?  No.  This is a mom who is vowing to not leave the house with both children again until April.

I think perhaps the animals were enjoying the day.  The giraffe kept coming closer – I think he wanted to see what that screeching was coming from the stroller.

And the elephant seemed to be enjoying a nice drink of water.

Today was one of those days where they are lucky to be so cute.  I think we will not get more ambitious than the grocery store for the foreseeable future.

I think you need a drink, sistah! So much for a fun day out at the zoo!! They sure are cute when they are fussy though… and that stroller rocks!

UGH – fussing children and one tired mother does not a good combination make. But I agree with PP and I think it must be a recipe for a cocktail! At least the weather was nice.

We are living parallel lives. Mine are 29 and 16 months and trying to do anything, even a few groceries can make me vow never to go out the door, ever. I try and be thankful for the little bits of fun we have in public, like everyone making it thru safeway alive. This is why you will always find me hanging out in the wine aisle. Maybe someone will feel sorry for me and buy me a bottle.

Rough doesn’t come close to what it is in our house right now and I’ve only got one. Let’s just say I got to wash puke-covered sheets, stuffed animals, blankets and clothes after Miss G worked herself into a frenzy after being put in her room for working herself into a frenzy… And this is 7 out of every 8 hrs the last week. I swear something’s wrong that I can’t figure out(other than being 2 1/2 that is).

Oh, Michelle, you are going through a rough spell! I hate days like that. You have the perfect plan, and it is you who need to get out, but the kids have a different opinion. They are so grounded!!! Reese too is obsessed with “NACKS”

On another note your hair looks great!!

Oh I hate those days when we think our kids are going to love something and then it’s a complete flop!!

    You brave, brave woman.

OK, so write the words ‘THE ZOO’ on a sticky note and put it on the front door. Next time you get a brilliant idea read the sticky note before leaving the house.

I take my kids to the zoo several times a year..but always take a babysitter with me. It is great it gives me a extra pair of hands and we all can enjoy the day. I usually find them at http://www.babysitters4hire.com has been a great site for our family. We registered and were able to secure a sitter within the first 2 days. Try it the next time.

LOL! My kids had a day like that yesterday, but we were home. Thankfully they’re always better when we go out. That said we went shopping today just so I would have happy children. The thought of 3 miserable kids two days in a row was too much for me. Your pics are too funny.

I have been reading a few posts on here and have picked up some great info. One thing I have found which works really well for a good nights sleep, feeling more relaxed and focused is binaural beats. As strange as they may sound (excuse the pun) they are a very powerful method of relaxation.
