Michelle Smiles

Teaching my children to question authority, except mine.

Because you’ve all been so patient

December5

I’ve gotten only a couple of nudges to remind me that I have been seriously slacking in the photo department so here is your reward:

A little Sabrina cuteness.

This is what i get when I say “smile for mommy”:

And a little Tessa cuteness.

And for those interested, Tessa had her 4 month check up earlier this week.  She was 11lb 6oz.  (That puts her in the 9th%tile for weight and she is in the 7th for height.)  The doctor doesn’t love her low numbers but since she is proportionate, he just wants to keep an eye on her.  Her spleen was enlarged but he felt it was a result of the virus she just got over.  And we discussed her excessive arching.  She almost never spits up so in that sense it doesn’t present like reflux but he thought that might be why she is always trying to touch her head to her butt.  We are trying Zantac for 10 days to see if that helps.  Giving a 4 month old medicine is like trying to bathe a cat – possible in theory but not pleasant in practice.  The first 4 doses she dribbled back out at me.  I think I finally figured it out – I have to quit being nice and shoot it in fast.  We go back in a month rather than 2 so that he can check her weight and spleen again.

Sabrina’s “smile” is hysterical and Tessa is just too cute for words.

Sabrina is as cute as ever – and I still can’t get over how much Tessa looks like Steve!!!!

Love the expression on Sabrina’s face.

I hope Tessa responds to the Zantac. Gabriella took it for a while even though she had no classic symptoms. She always had a rattly chest. I did the same thing with the meds, just shoot in quick and let her get over being pissed. I also put it in a bottle sometimes, but I guess it would be a little difficult to figure out how to do that with her milk, huh??????? Could be interesting to see what you came up with on that one though!!!

What a cutie she is? The boys will be pounding at the doors…beware!

    Cute girls!!!

If you blow on her face right after you dose the meds, they usually swallow right after. I have no idea why… it just usually works.

I think they both look gorgeous! Having babies sick can be so scary, glad she’s feeling better and hopefully the zantac will help!

Those are some pretty cute girls. I love Sabrina’s shirt.

Tessa is a peanut. I hope she gets feeling better soon. Babies, they always have us worried. I bet she is just fine.

Ashley totally took my answer…blow in the kid’s face, it makes them swallow every time!!!!!
Anyway, hope the meds work. My 2 oldest had reflux, and thankfully when we got on the right med, life was good again.
You are just so surrounded by cuteness. How do you even stand it?

oh Michelle, I’m a little scared to see what Hunter’s weight will be considering he was almost 16lbs at 2 months. LOL He may not even be on the charts, my son is HUGE and everyone loves to remind me what a chunk I created. I miss the days of petite little Gabby as he is so darn heavy. Good luck with the meds, I read Rob your cat theory and we both laughed…so true!

We have a five month old who at four months weighed exactly the same as your little one. He was also doing the arching back and would vomit every time he ate. The doc pt him on prevacid and it seems to be working for the most part (sometimes he still pukes after eating but not NEARLY as much).
We have him on a formula that our two year old is on – it’s a formula for babies with milk and soy allergies. We dilute the medicine in his first bottle of the day.
I dunno if your little one is on a bottle or not but that may help?

    Julie
