Mooooo…
I saw it first at the Anvil Tree but it has been floating around the web. I hesitated to discuss it simply because I am sure it was written purely to generate a reaction. But it makes my head hurt so I have to share.
I have no issue with Spike TV network. They show me Bond marathons during holiday weekends and for that alone I love them a little. But now they’ve gone and pissed me off. They published the Top 7 Butterballs in Hollywood. The criteria to end up on this list was apparently being bigger than a size 2. Drew Barrymore? Yep, she is a heifer. Selma Hayek? She is the one woman I would worry about stealing my husband away – he loves her. Liv Tyler? I can’t even wrap my brain around her inclusion on this list.
The women on this list are all beautiful and healthy looking. I wish there were more real women in Hollywood.
I hesitated to write about it, too. In fact, the only reason I did was because a similarly vile thing happened to me a day before I found that article. An owner of a local theatre wrote a nasty piece about me playing Cinderella (in 2004) because my ass was the size of a 747. When I saw the Spike piece, I was just incensed. Real women are not fat. Give me a break.
Selma as a butterball? Oh my goodness! What nonsense for so many reasons. No wonder we are struggling with an obesity epidemic if the impossibility of healthy living is a size 2!!
Did anyone see Selma on 30 Rock last week? OMG. What a body on that one. They obviously don’t know their audience ’cause last I checked most men like boobs and butts. heh.
The comments following the “article” were the best part!
amen sister
Glad you posted because I had not seen this!!
As satire, it wasn’t even clever enough to be funny. Dude = not a good writer.
O.k. so if you want to feel better about – this guy who wrote the article is totally having his ass handed to him in the comments section!
check out comment #33 there is a link to his pic….he probably shouldn’t be such an ass.
i am speechless. speechless. i am never speechless.
i am speechless.
THIS is why I have starved myself for the beginning of 2009 and joined the YMCA. I am NOT fat but society makes everyone feel so bad about themselves. I’d like to see a picture of the GUY who wrote the article.
Ha! If these women have butterbodies, then I’d be compared to an 18 wheeler pulling a double decker jet! I wonder why he didn’t latch on to the larger women in Hollywood because there are plenty of celebrities that are larger than Selma Hayek. Then again, maybe he was sensitive to the fact that they’ve already been beat up too much for no reason. Yeah right…what a freak!
