Did I mention spring?

March15

It has been a cold and rainy weekend so we all spent a good bit of the weekend in our PJs.

Sabrina was sporting her sunglasses despite the dreary weather and managing to tangle her hair beyond belief with her brush.

And Tessa was happiest when playing with her toys on the floor.  She didn’t want to be held captive by her high chair or her exesaucer.

Steve spent the weekend trying to make sure I wasn’t going to run away from home – I was wound a little tight come Friday evening.  I’m feeling much more chipper now.  Of course a Monday morning trip to the breeding ground for the new and improved plague pediatrician should take care of that.  But we should be able to swing by Trader Joe’s after.

This loosely related to your post, but.. how do you go to the grocery store with those two? I’m expecting our second adoption in a few weeks (infant) and I have an almost 3 year old. The grocery store is the one I can’t wrap my head around.

Oh Kecia my dear…grocery shopping is part of the reason Steve was tip toeing around me this weekend. I’ll share that later this week. When they are tiny? It isn’t as bad. I either wore Tessa in the Mei Tei and put Sabrina in the cart seat or I put Sabrina in the cart seat and put Tessa’s infant carrier (the car seat thingy) in the basket of the cart and piled groceries around it (this meant smaller and more frequent trips but it is amazing what you can pile around and how creative you get.

At Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, I tend to just be picking up a few things and browsing around so I’ll put them in the double stroller and hang one of my reusable grocery bags on the handle and put my groceries directly into it.

I can understand what you mean by being wound tight!! Glad you are feeling better.

Look at that baby sitting up like a big kid. STOP HER. Hope the Dr. appt goes well and you don’t catch the plague

THAT is why I’m continuing to bitch about the weather. Damn, it’s cold. Way too cold.

(Psst . . . it’s really not, but I don’t want to jinx us into a snow storm.)

BTW, your kids are ridiculously cute. Really.

Selfishly I hope you saw the med student/resident bc that memo was hilarious! For your sake, though, I hope it was just a fast nurse visit. 🙂

I got to go to Trader Joes last week to stock up. I made this when I got home after tasting it at the store and it was really good: mix up a package of the trader joes cornbread mix according to the directions on the package, put into an 8×8 greased pan, spoon 1 can of trader joes chili over the cornbread mix, top it all with some shredded sharp cheddar cheese and bake until it looks done. It was quite yummy.

I have also been feeling very wound up. For once, I was actually looking forward to Monday! That is scary!

I made another stock up trip to Trader Joe’s and that really helped my mood! 🙂 Have you tried the green chile tamales in the frozen section? YUM!
