Teaching my children to question authority, except mine.

Thank goodness they are cute

March17

These faces are what keep me going on the days that being a mommy wears me down.  Pictures are a good reminder because they don’t talk or whine.  But they really are a lot of fun when I don’t have to take them out in public most of the time.

The only way to get Sabrina to sit still and smile for a photo these days is for her to pretend the light before the flash is a “catch ’em catch ’em stars” from Dora.  So most of our photos this week have her clasping her hands or reaching up.  (Yes, I’ve heard about Dora growing up.  Yes, I think it is asinine.  If they don’t keep reruns of Dora’s pre-ho days on, I might drop Sabrina off on the porch of the programming director for Nickelodeon.)

This is Sabrina (in her very cute cupcake PJs from Target) after I told her to stop trying to put her pinwheel stick in the outlet.  Anytime I ask her to do something or not do something she lies on the floor with varying degrees of drama.  I ignore her.  The teen years should be full of sunshine and joy around here.

Those girls are just too darn cute!! At least you can get a pic of Sabrina. Reese screams “NOOOOOOOOO” when I get out the camera. The whole Dora growing up is a real croc!!

Tessa is getting to be a big girl!

THANK YOU for the picture of Sabrina on the floor. I thought that was just a local drama queen performance at our house every day. And it happens so often (and with such volume and intensity) that I’m never sure if she’s hurt or mortally injured! Being an older mom, I can only hope to develop dementia before the teen years.

I can’t tell you how happy I am when I read your blog. Not because you are having hard days with your kids – but because it reassures me that I’m not alone. Alex is the BIGGEST drama king. If I tell him no – or to stop doing something – he does just what Sabrina does. He throws himself on the floor and screams at the top of his lungs. It’s horrible – and he only does it with me. (a little bit with dad) I also just ignore it – but it’s not stopping it.

But, she sure is cute! (and Tessa is just growing up so much!!!!)

You crack me up! The teen years are going to loads of fun here too! Lily is all about the drama! So far Charlotte is much more easy going about life.. I pray that continues!! I guess you know it bad when you say to your 3 year old thank goodess you are.. and she can pipe in the cute part! I am just glad that I am NOT alone! LOL

I also LOVE the new pictures! Tessa is getting so big! Her model pic is just too much! 🙂

Whoa, they are precious! I didn’t mean to sound at all preachy when (in my last comment) I said you’d miss these times. Please forgive me if I did!

My little one is 6’1″, and I miss him from each age. Of course there ARE things I don’t miss…

Your blog is so funny and tender. Glad I found it!

Oh, and I never carried a diaper bag either. I’d carry the bare essentials and figured I could always buy what I didn’t have. Kind of a funny attitude ’cause I was broke then, but it worked and I could hold him instead of bag after bag after bag…
