It has been hot hot hot this week so not a lot of outside play time for the girls.  We are fortunate our back yard gets shade later in the afternoon so the girls can usually get out a little bit then.  My geraniums are quite happy with the heat.

The girls have been doing pretty well with not being able to play outside as much.  We went and bought a little $10 pool and hope to get that filled soon for some cooler play time outside. We try and plan our day during breakfast.  Sabrina always wants to know the agenda – even if I don’t have one yet.

Tessa wasn’t amused at being caught in a situation where she couldn’t immediately duck away from the camera.

I laughed when I uploaded these photos. Before kids, I always thought my kids would never have a lot of branded crap.  Then I discovered 1) how happy having a picture of Dora or princesses on a cup makes them 2) what great motivation a new cup or placemat might be when trying to get them to do a desired behavior and 3) how hard it can be to find crap without faces on it.

I love your pictures and couldn’t agree more on the character stuff. Have a fun day.

Oh my gosh, I SWORE (and i dont swear) that I would NOT have ANY characers on anything my kids own. And then Whitney fell in love with Minnie…and then Cinderella….and Snow White…..and this week, its Tinkerbell. Oh, and I cant forget the Toy Story folks. Marketing Geniuses at Disney, combined with my inability to hold back when something is $3 and makes my kid smile = we own a sh*t-ton of princess crap. I LOATHED character stuff pre-Whitney. Now? I own an embroidery machine for the specific intent of placing characters on my child’s plain clothes. Figures.

Boy do I hear you on the character stuff!!! It sure does make them happy,so how can you resist? I did draw the line though and won’t have it on her bedding and room decor.

I agree about the character cr@p. We don’t buy many clothes but we’ve got all kinds of plates, cups, etc. And I’m with Alleen…….no bedding or room decor – mostly because I can’t afford to change it every time she ‘switches her mind’ and likes something new!

That cracks me up about the character stuff. I didn’t realize I wasn’t the only one. I too said I would never……….
I also draw the line at rooms decorated in it.
We just got back from Disney and honestly, mom is all character’d out. My girls have worn the same three t-shirts with Ariel on them for two weeks. Even to bed.
But I wouldn’t have it any other way : )

Completely agree on the character nonsense! I would still stay that I try to keep it minimal, but…my youngest does have a closet full of Hello Kitty shirts, so maybe I’m not being truthful with myself.
