I’m in survival mode here. I’ve told Steve that my goal is to keep everyone fed and alive during the day right now…he should expect nothing more when he comes home each evening.
Yesterday, I managed to bathe everyone and did my first grocery trip with both girls (Tessa in the sling and Sabrina riding in the cart). All of this while sporting non-maternity pants (ok they had an elastic waist but they weren’t maternity pants). I felt quite smug until I found myself in bed at 9:30 as a result of all of that activity.
Heck, I find myself in bed at that time and I only have a 19 month old! Of course, I usually wake up for some odd reason about 2 am and am up at least an hour….go figure. I think that having everyone fed,bathed, and a trip to the grocery, well that is fantastic! Keep up the good work!
9.30 am or pm ???
Get lots of sleep and stay in survival mode. Sounds like you had a successful first day solo to me.

I’m impressed! You take care of yourself. Don’t over do it.
I found that I really paid for it for a couple of days if I over did it after having a c-section. OUCH.
Hang in there… it gets easier.

I remember the days of first days of errands with a newborn and two one year olds. While I miss them being little, I don’t miss the feelings of being overwhelmed. It will get easier. Going to bed early, will probably be happening for awhile though. I just went back to work again after having the summer off and I am dead by 10.

Nothin’ wrong with survival, man. Hang in there! And I was asleep at 10 last night…no gymnastics for me. (and I certainly dont have a newborn!)

Yea for you! I found it hard to get out the door with two under 2-
I gave up on it so many times! ๐ I liked the idea of pulling things out of the freezer for dinner-we got in the habit of cooking a few things on the weekends, freezing and using it during the week when I was doing it solo. I noticed a new Momma entering Walmart the other day with a huge diaper bag packed to its limit. She was prepared for anything during that trip! ๐ You are bringing back the memories for me Momma Mikki!
I only have one and I was happy that we were all bathed, dressed and made it to the grocery store yesterday. You are my hero. ๐
Way to go! We can’t even take Gabbie to the grocery store anymore so I could not imagine trying to do it with a newborn in tow! I am impressed!!!!
I think you’re doing great Michelle! So what if you were in bed at 9:30. You are one amazing mama. I hope you’re using paperplates, cups, and utensils for meals……..screw the dishes.
Impressed you made it till 9:30. Newborn stuff is hard. Even harder with 2 and you actually gave birth. You’re doing great. You don’t have to be super mom.

Hey 9:30 sounds pretty darn reasonable to me.
You stay up past 8:30???? I am impressed at that alone throw in bathing and I’m practically bowing!
No maternity pants – now that’s a great day!! At this stage in the game, survival is all you need to worry about.
