Round up

November21

First, no one guessed correctly yesterday.  Tessa cried first.  Sabrina entertained the masses because we had to kill 45 minutes in the waiting room full of sick kids.  Glad that little half wall they put up for the sick kids to sit behind is too high for the germs to get out.  I seethed that they were letting my 4 month old hang out in the waiting room for that long – they usually have special consideration for babies under 6 months and get us right back into an exam room.  Then we spend our 45 minutes waiting around.

The doctor believes it is a virus and she should be feeling better by the end of the weekend (assuming she doesn’t catch the plague from one of the snotty waiting room kids).  He wasn’t happy with her low amount of weight gain (hello – throwing up for a week will do that).  For those who discussed the lactose (more correctly milk protein) issue with me via email…bottom line according to doc is no bloody-mucusy stool (oops – you weren’t eating were you?) means that is highly unlikely.

Anyone else using Word Press getting (alert – highly technical term ahead) a buttload of spam comments all of a sudden?

Sabrina is truly an endless source of entertainment these days.  She is very interested in how Tessa eats.  She understands that Tessa is a baby and “Nina no baby.  Nina big girl!”  She knows that she drinks from a cup but Tessa nurses from mommy.  But she is still putting the details all together.  Yesterday, we were hanging out on the bed.  I was nursing Tessa and Sabrina was playing with that damned singing puppy (you all know the one – it will just randomly talk or sing in the middle of the night).  Sabrina suddenly declared “Puppy eat!” and tried to unsnap her sleeper to feed her puppy.  When she was unable to unsnap the front of her sleeper, she pulled up her pant leg and fed her puppy from her knee.  I laughed so hard I almost peed.

Maybe you had to be there.

Grey’s Anatomy jumped the shark for me last night.  (For those who don’t recall our previous discussion, which I can’t find anywhere, about that pop culture term, you can find more about it here.)  Sex with dead people and operating on friends – I’m done with it.  Too bizarre.  Which led my husband to say it was always too unbelievable (he hates it) but they took it to a new place last night.  I’m also pretty much over Heroes.  I haven’t watched the last couple of episodes yet (saved on Tivo) but I’m tired of not knowing who or what to root for – it feels like manipulation for manipulations sake.  I guess I’ll just have to focus on Top Chef and the Amazing Race.  Sad when reality shows are the best thing on TV.

TOTALLY agree with Grey’s. I used to be a huge fan but the whole Denny story sucks. I vowed last night was the last time I would watch it but I may try again one more time because I am not a fan of any Thursday night shows!! Hope Tessa is better soon!!!

I agree about Grey’s. As Da Holly G would say: It sux big donkey balls. Oh, and Denny is on for FIVE shows! That means we have three more unrealistic shows to suffer thru if we so choose. But I may not so.

I LOVE Amazing Race. My mother and I want to go on that show so badly. I have searched everywhere as to how to apply and can’t find it. A Guatemama and Grandmama. That would work!

I hope Tessa is feeling better very soon. And that ‘Nina’ no get. :~)

you didn’t need to be there, the image of knee nursing was adequate! too funny.

i too am bummed about GA. i used to love that show. the sex with dead denny was over the top- although i have to say the “she’s flying solo, i think it’s hot” comment from alex did get a smirk from me. my bet is that she has a brain tumor and mcdreamy is going to remove it and either 1- save the day after she almost dies or 2- kill her and she’ll join denny and the ranks of ex-sitcom B-movie stars.

hope tessa feels better soon. if she continues to have loose stools after the bad part of this is over email me and i can give you some ideas… -s

I too think what Sabrina did is hilarious! I couldn’t stop smiling after I read that! haha
    Hope Tessa is feeling better.
And I’m not a fan of Grey’s either, if we are talking about Hospital shows the only one that would get close would be ER.

I stopped reading when I saw Grey’s come up and I didn’t read any comments because I Tivoed it and haven’t watched it yet.

But on your WordPress question… haven’t noticed any extras on my end. Do you have your Akismet filter on? I also have moderate first comment enabled. Also, if you haven’t upgraded to the latest and greatest version that could have something to do with it. Might I suggest the auto-upgrade plugin? Takes the pain in the ass part out of upgrading and then you don’t have to wait for Steve to do it for you.

Sabrina is too funny. Child logic1
I couldn’t agree with you more on Grey’s. That was the last time I’ll watch it. I’m almost there on Heroes.

I’ve been getting a ton of spam for a while. I’ll get one on every post…like twenty of them at a time. All of them jiberish and/or about prescription drugs. That never happened to me on Blogger. What gives?

  10. On November 21st, 2008 at 8:25 pm Merlot Says:

Nope, no excessive spam in my WordPress acct. I haven’t given up on Heroes. I’m not really into reality TV so there aren’t many shows left. I’ll take what I can get.

I enjoyed how Sabrina fed her puppy. OH, I know those damn puppies!! We have hundreds of them.

Hope Tessa is feeling better. Still sounds weird to me. Oh, and I know what you mean about the kids with the plague–although Reese seems to always be the one WITH the plague!!!

Grey’s is getting weird, I agree!! Joe is with Steve

I hope Tessa is feeling better soon and no you didn’t have to be there when Sabrina was feeding her baby with her knee. It was pretty damn funny just to read about. Not happy with GA this season at all. To many unbelievable things happening. I “missed” thursdays episode but I guess I didn’t miss much. TV really sucks these days. Not that I have much time to watch.

I’m dying here over what Sabrina did!!!!! I can see Miss G doing something like that. She copies EVERYTHING she sees (and unfortunately, hears… ooops).

I hope Tessa is better soon and doesn’t get any ickies from the sickies in the waiting room. I hate that.

I never watched GA and it sounds like I’m glad I didn’t.

Ah Heroes… they killed off my favorite character Nikki/Jessica last season, my second fav is Mohinder and he’s turning into some sort of monster. What a bummer, the only characters on the show I trust to do the right thing anymore are Hiro and Ando.

I don’t know why they brought DEnny back….just to make everyone sad I guess. I quit watching Heroes this season. I was too confused and with Lost coming back in January I really don’t need TWO migraines a week.
