Memo #3621

March21

milkMemo to the 9:15 breakfast patrons at Cracker Barrel:

My apologies for disturbing your breakfast.  I just wanted someone else to make breakfast today.  We wouldn’t have come if we had realized the baby would be fussy the whole time.

I swear I never return my food but in the middle of my pancakes was a sea of batter with bobbing blueberries.  There was a brief huddle around our table because apparently the waitress needed the manager to confirm that they were in fact not supposed to be liquid filled.  And I really wanted the pancakes but waiting for another order pushed the kids over the edge.

And that is the first time my 2 year old has ever dumped her milk on the floor.  Really.

We promise not to bother you again in the foreseeable future.  We don’t plan on going out much until we stop being the family that acts as birth control for the childless and prompts those with children to be thankful they are past this stage.

Sincerely,

The woman who ran before the milk cup stopped rolling under the table

ROFL!! I’m so glad I’m not the only one who goes through this!! I just said today that if they would give my little Olivia to a teen for a few moments she would defintely decide to never have children!!

Too funny! I know the feeling though. Anytime that someone has said that his wife has baby fever, we offer to let her babysit our crew for the day. We haven’t been taken up on our offer yet!

Oh I know that feeling. Sorry it was rough – last I checked I think MacDonalds has pancakes and you can get them via the drive-thru. But if you all go as a family then Sabrina would demand fries and at breakfast they have no fries, just hashbrowns which would create another issue (trust me I’ve experienced that one).

Oo runny pancakes – yucko! And did the manager really need to see them? That’s like the time I sent a drink back because it was only seltzer water and not Sprite and the waitress and bartender needed to taste it, just to make sure I really wanted to send my drink back.

    Have a good Sunday.

I just love your memos. It sounds very entertaining the way you describe it but I’m sure at the time it was anything but! You make me lol.

Oh, I understand! I just went out to breakfast with Elizabeth this morning, and had quite a similar experience- sooo not fun!

I had that happen to me once with the blueberry pancakes at Cracker Barrel. But, gee, they didn’t need a committee to agree that wasn’t right!

Sorry your breakfast didn’t go so swimmingly(well, other than the blueberries swimming in your pancakes).

Gee, I hope that they didn’t charge you for the runny pancakes, it is refreshing to see that we are not the only ones who have had to give up eating out—at least for now! Thanks for the laugh.

OH, I have so been there!! But, I still keep going out, thinking each time it will change. Honestly, often it feels as if it simply isn’t worth it!!

But, thanks for sharing. It is so nice to know we are all in this together
