Egg hunt

April9

dsc09458We hunted Easter eggs with my mom’s club on Wednesday.  Sabrina had a fabulous time and is great at finding eggs and putting them into her purse.  She was quite pleased with herself.  After finding eggs, she had a great time playing with the other kiddos on the playground.

And I obviously need to get this child a sit and spin.  This thing is like a big version of a sit and spin and she had all of these kiddos spinning around.

The candy filled eggs have become treats when she goes #2 on the potty.  She earned 1 the first day this reward was implemented.  The girl sat on the potty for 40 minutes because she wanted that damn egg filled with candy.  Stickers remain the reward for peeing.  She earns several stickers a day.  We are just about ready to start training in earnest.  I’m scared.

Sabrina – you have quite the fabulous purse there! Reminds of Sofia’s purse on Golden Girls.

I’m in awe that she actually plays on the playground equipment. Madeline likes to scream. and scream. and scream. 🙂

Don’t be scared!!! I was too – but it was really easy for us. (maybe I got really lucky) Just follow her lead, and she will do it. I was surprised at how quickly Alex trained when he made the decision that he wanted to do it. Good luck!!!

So we’re not the only moms that are terrified of potty training? I honestly thought it was just us. So far Ally refuses to take her pants off and sit on the potty but she will sit with her clothes on. And she screams “no panties” everytime we show her underwear. We think maybe she is just not ready yet. Or is that wishful thinking?
Sabrina is cute as ever, and she does look so happy with her eggs and purse and just being outside. Glad you had a fun time. Happy Easter

You can do it! Potty training isn’t *that* bad. (I can say it because we’re totally done with it and have managed to repress all negative memories.)

I have an idea even better than the Sit-n-Spin, BTW. Take that girl to Disney World and let her ride the Teacups all day. 😉

I check your blog regularly, but when I saw Sabrina’s pics I was struck by how grown up she is. She’ll be a heart breaker.

Looks like fun, and great idea. Reese still won’t even entertain the idea!! I think she will be easy.

She is getting so grown up looking:>(

Yeah, I don’t know why but potty training intimidated us more than almost any aspect of parenting so far. I’m sure we should spend much more time worrying about boys on motorcycles, adolescent angst, adoption issues, etc., but no– potty training is the thing that kept us up at night last year. Actually, you’re further along than we were when we started the P.T. boot camp last summer, so you should feel good. In the end (no pun intended) it wasn’t as awful as we’d made it out to be in our heads. You’ll see– you’ll be fine even though it doesn’t feel like it now. Bribery is key. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Now I can look ahead and see that gummy bears and stickers probably won’t be enough to keep her away from boys on motorcycles. If only…

    Sabrina, as always, looks beautiful!
