I just pulled the winning comment with the random number generator: Nora of Tycast Team gets some Haagen-Dazs!

Thanks for all of your camera input.  The ultimate deal breaker for us is a lithium battery.  We don’t want to mess around with AAs.  Strangely, that took a good number of cameras out of the running. The 2 that I like best are that fit our ideas of what we want (Click photos for amazon listing)

The Canon PowerShot SD 1100IS (the less expensive option)

And my real favorite Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5A

Steve hasn’t added his 2 cents worth yet so he might not be on board with either.  And because our microwave caught fire and our weed wacker disintergrated this week, the camera may not be the first thing on the list to be replaced.

My ultimate choice would have been the panasonic Lumix too. But it was out of our price range so we went with the SD1100 IS. I think they are both good picks!

Yes, Lumix is my top pick. SD1100IS is what I settled for! It is a good camera for the money, and it is much easier to carry around than the Lumix.

I have a Canon, although not the same model as you have. But I do love it. Easy, and it takes pretty good pics. All the ones I post on FB are from that camera. Good luck!

Oh, and the mint Haagen Daas is pretty tasty!

I have a Canon and love it! Of course, now I want an SLR, but that is definitely out of the budget! Good luck with your decision.

We have a canon, but it wasn’t as quick as we wanted, so we ‘upgraded’ to that exact Panasonic and LOVE IT! Great, great camera for getting shots of little ones. I have even managed to get great shots of my kids together with this camera, something I had a hard time doing (it actually never happened!) with my much slower canon.
