Breyers Smooth & Dreamy Giveaway

August2

I might have mentioned once or twice or eleventy billion times that I love ice cream.  Really.  Love it.  A lot.  I like to have a little ice cream treat before bed and I’ve been trying to make it less of a caloric hit.  As a result, I’ve been trying some of the different brands of ice cream sandwiches and bars to control the portion.

I had a chance to try the Breyers Smooth & Dreamy Vanilla Fudge Brownie ice cream sandwich.  It comes it at 160 calories and 4 grams of fat per sandwich.  They were  a nice size and pretty satisfying.  I liked them but they aren’t my favorite of the different brands I have tried.  Just a personal preference because they were good and you better believe I ate them.  I also thought they were a little pricey but I tend to think most ice cream treats are a little pricey these days.

Want a chance to try them for FREE and make up your own mind?  I have 5 coupons to give away for a free box of the Breyers Smooth & Dreamy Ice Cream Bars or Sandwiches.  Leave a comment telling me which you like better – ice cream bars or ice cream sandwiches. (I’m an ice cream sandwich girl all the way…once the chocolate coating is off the bar I have little use for it.)  There are 5 coupons here on my dining table so your chances are pretty good to win one!

**Edited to add: I will choose 5 random winners on Thursday morning – 08/05/10.  Comments will be accepted until 9am on Thursday.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Breyer’s Smooth & Dreamy and received a coupon for a free sample to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate. Opinions are my own.

well seeing as i could live on ice cream alone (well and diet coke too), i’m in for sure! πŸ™‚ i like both, but probably sandwiches come out on top for me!

Definitely an ice cream sandwich girl here!

I am not picky about my ice cream snacks, but oh do I love them. And seeing as I just got laid off, I could really use free ones… (work the pity card here). I like sandwiches a little better than bars, but I wouldn’t turn my nose up at bars…

  5. On August 2nd, 2010 at 11:55 am Jessica Says:

Definitely sandwiches. Way less messy and I prefer the mushier cookie to the crumblier chocolate coating.

  6. On August 2nd, 2010 at 11:57 am Joy Says:

In my opinion, ice cream is just as tasty on a stick as in a sandwich – so in other words, I like it ALL!
    YUM!

  7. On August 2nd, 2010 at 12:09 pm Kim Says:

Yeah – I’ll take it anyway I can get it!!! πŸ™‚ But if I had to choose – sandwich.

I definitely prefer the sandwiches….but they keep disappearing at my house into the hands of little people! I would love a special box “just for mom” πŸ™‚

I prefer bars to sandwiches only because I hate getting my hands all sticky and gooey.

Oh and do share – what is your favorite ince cream treat?

  14. On August 2nd, 2010 at 1:24 pm Stacy Says:

Bars for me, please. Sandwiches always get brown cookie crumbs all over my fingers and under my fingernails. Tami’s vote is for the sandwiches, though (because I’m not brave enough to let her try a bar yet).

  15. On August 2nd, 2010 at 1:55 pm Liz Says:

Definitley an ice cream sandwich girl. That way you can lick all those delicious crumbs off of your fingers that Stacy doesn’t like!

Breyer’s ice cream is the only kind I’ll eat. But I haven’t tried their bars or sandwiches because I agree they are way too pricey! But if someone sent me a free coupon, I’d definitely buy those dreamy vanilla fudge brownie sandwiches!!

  17. On August 2nd, 2010 at 2:37 pm Shannon Says:

Ice cream sandwich for sure…who wants to eat something off a stick while it drips all over you. plus those last two bites always have a risk of falling right off the stick…and what a waste of perfectly good ice cream???

  18. On August 2nd, 2010 at 4:16 pm Amy W Says:

Hmm, this is a tough one!! I love both, but I think the ice cream bar may have a slight edge on the sandwich! But it’s almost too close to call!

  19. On August 2nd, 2010 at 4:39 pm Jill Says:

Both! But if I have to choose, I’d have to say bars.

    Ice cream sandwiches are yummier.

  21. On August 2nd, 2010 at 6:24 pm Krista Says:

BOTH!! But if I really had to choose, I’d probably say bars.

  22. On August 2nd, 2010 at 6:30 pm Jennifer Says:

Love ice cream here too! I indulge in a small ice cream treat almost every night, once the girls are in bed. Since hubby is working nights, I grab a sweet treat & a good book (via the Kindle ap on my iPod Touch) and unwind for alittle bit. I definitely agree that sandwiches are better than bars. However, my current favorite is the Nestle Drumstick Lil’ Drums.

How can I not leave a comment for this one? I’m a bar girl these days – although I would never turn down a sandwhich!

  25. On August 3rd, 2010 at 4:30 am april Says:

Definitely ice cream sandwiches… love when the ice cream starts to melt and you can run your tongue around the edges, licking the melty ice cream… touching the chocolate sandwich. Biting into it, having the ice cream squirt from the sides… I think I need an ice cream sandwich stat!

  26. On August 3rd, 2010 at 6:27 am Heather Says:

I love me a good ice cream sandwich! But would also love a good ice cream bar to go with it!

  27. On August 3rd, 2010 at 8:49 am Kim Says:

Definitely sandwiches. I eat most of the ice cream out of them first and save the cookie for last.

  28. On August 3rd, 2010 at 11:15 am Sheri Says:

mmmm ice cream, my love! We are novelty ice cream junkies at my house – and I have to admit that I have a preference for bars. I find the thick cookie sandwich overwhelms the pure joy of the ice cream way more than a thin chocolate candy coating on a bar and I am not crazy about the cookie crumbs on my hands – its blatant evidence that makes it hard for me to deny to all that I ever ate any such thing πŸ™‚
