Teaching my children to question authority, except mine.

13 is going to be ugly

April29

My child seems to have aged and hit the terrible twos at the young age of almost 20 months. What is up with that? Suddenly, the attitude is 10 feet tall and able to deflect tantrum distractions with a blink of the eye. She has started giving us dirty looks – it seems like she is saying “Why are you ruining my life?”.  She shoots me one of those looks and then screws up her face and consciously prepares to throw a tantrum.  I guess it is pay back for having the most pleasant child on Earth up until now.   I’m just amazed at how she has learned to throw around this attitude all of a sudden.

***********************

I had 2 doctor appointments today.  I went for a consult with an maternal fetal medicine guy at the request of my new (non-crazy) doctor.  I overheard his nurse telling another nurse in the office that Doc Crazy is a “nutty quack” when they were discussing trying to get my records from her.  Apparently she is notorious for ignoring record requests. Anyway, Baby Girl was not cooperating at all.  They were trying to do an echo of her heart – 2 techs and the doctor all tried to get what they needed but she would not sit still.

Then I went to the eye doctor and had my eyes dilated.  You would think with all of the medical advances they would find a better way to look at the back of your eyes.  It always gives me such a headache.

Still no DSL…still borrowing (thanks neighbor…if you ever need a cup of sugar please don’t hesitate to come calling).  It was supposed to be up yesterday and it still isn’t at almost 7pm today.

Maybe it will get better once you settle into the house a bit more. BUT, they are at a great age for tantrums. Reese had been doing it for a few months now.

I tell you girls are the worst at sonograms. Neither of my girls were very cooperative at theirs either!!

I hate having my eyes dilated. The light!!!!!!!!

You have such a great new neighbor

I am truly surprised she has done so well until now!!! Gabbie has been in to throwing tantrums for a few months now! Have fun! I have found that Gabbie’s tantrums come and go. One day she will be fine but the next, look out world! The dirty looks are overflowing here too!

Oh boy, we’re getting a taste at 18 1/2 months. K. has been the Debil (imagine Kathy Bates from Water Boy voice…Foosball is da Debil!) He’s been throwing stamping fits for the last few days. I love my child, but there are days…like today.

I can’t stand having my eyes dilated, either. It just sucks monkey butt!

I envy your 20 months of no tantrums. Spencer throws several every day, especially when I take away the baby wipes or the vaseline… gosh he loves that stuff. But, I wrote it all up in his baby book so his future spouse can have a good laugh.

…. dirty looks?! How does a 20 month learn to glare at you, I’ll never know….. But I guess I better get ready. Our son is 8 months old and already showing quite a temper.

We started in earnest at about 15 months. I can thankfully say that she doesn’t throw them every day any more like she did for a while about a month ago. I know that many more are to come, but for now I’m thankful for every day that is tantrum-free.

As for the looks – oh yeah baby, Miss G has perfected that.

I had to chuckle at the nutty quack comment. Pretty bad she has that rep amongst her peers.

hey, they DO have a new way to look at your eyes! I went to the eye doc like 2 weeks ago and they did a digital view/pic. No dialation necessary. It was way cool!!

And how worried should I be that Em already gives me dirty looks, and she is only 14 months old?!?! YIKES!

Such a fun age. W is all about the dirty looks lately. Not so much to me, but he did NOT like the Dr checking him out last week. It was hilarous.
