Baby Watch 2008

July3

I went to the doctor again today.  They did an ultrasound to check Tessa’s growth and checked my cervix.  My cervix is still closed up tight.  Tessa is now almost 6 1/2 lbs.  I was informed she has a big head, big feet, and lots of hair.  So I anticipate dreams tonight about giving birth to a big headed, hairy monster baby.  My sudden ability to breath last week was the result of her turning head down which is good news.

My induction is scheduled for July 29th but my blood pressure was up today.  My doctor wasn’t pleased and said if it is still up next week I might not make it until the 29th.  So don’t piss me off – I might stroke out.  Doctor’s orders to take it easy this week.  Darn, there goes that marathon I was going to run tomorrow.

I had to laugh when she said my blood pressure was up and she didn’t like the number, she asked if there was anything going on in my life causing stress and/or anxiety.  You mean besides contemplating expelling a 7 or 8 lb baby out of my body and suddenly having a newborn?  Nope, not a thing.

After my appointment, Sabrina and I stopped at Once Upon A Child (a consignment shop in case you aren’t familiar).  We scored a bouncy seat and a bumbo seat for Tessa so it was successful stop.  I also found someone on Ebay who didn’t charge a ridiculous sum for a ring sling and received that in the mail yesterday.  Speaking of shopping, do you all know about this cool site?  If so, why didn’t anyone tell me?  They have great deals (just one at a time – once it is gone the next one comes up) on items for babies and toddlers.

Everytime you skip a day posting, I think “my gosh, she’s in hospital having Tessa as we speak (read:as I lurk)!”

Back to my own life now πŸ˜‰

I didn’t know about that site – thanks for sharing the link. Glad the doctors appointment went most good….I totally hear you on the stress thing. The doctor asked me the same thing today if there was anything “stressing me” and I laughed….YEAH. like a whole person.

Selfishly, I can’t wait for Tessa to make her appearance! πŸ™‚

Victoria (and her entire 9 lb self) had my blood pressure up at the end…..and I only thought she was going to be 6-7 lbs!!!!!

She still owes me an apology! πŸ™‚

    Happy 4th!

I love the idea of this site. I wish I knew the popular clothing site they were referring to in their link tab.

I LOVE me some Once Upon a Child! I have loved it for years – there were several years that Juliana, Curtis, Mac and Erin wore lots of good stuff from there;) They also have great deals on toys and educational stuff:)

I am so excited about Tessa’s arrival:):) I wish we could divide all the pain and not fun stuff between all of your blog buds and keep you from having to deal with it-

She will be worth it all – and it ends MUCH quicker that the stress of adoption;)
Love you girl and I am doing lamaze with you from here that day;)

You need to use craigslist, it’s way cheaper than Once upon a child for baby items!!

Well, hmph, I didn’t know about that site. I wish they listed past deals so you could get a feel for what they have and how often new things are listed… But, I’ll check once in a while.

The closest Once Upon a Child is waaaaay across town close to an hr away, so I’ve only made it once.

I hope you can get to the end without too much more stress.

Take it easy, put your feet up and let that sweet hubby of yours pamper you for the next few weeks (it may be the last time you feel pampered for years).
29th is a good date. It is mine and my DH’s 13th anniversary.

I love consignment type shops. Before I realized that almost all of Alex’s clothes were going to be hand me downs, I almost exclusively shopped in stores like that.

I’d tell you to take it easy, but I know that’s easier said then done. I hope Tessa stays put for a little while longer.

I can’t believe Miss Tessa will be here sooo soon!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean about being afraid of the big baby.. remember both mine were 10lbs each!!! With Derek the Dr said oh about 8lbs… Cerah came 10 days early and wasn’t suppose to be as big as Derek…fooled them…she was 1 ounce bigger…coming in at 10lb 2oz!!!!!!!!

You’ll do great… have a great day..now that I have scared you and made your blood pressure rise again.

    Hugs to you all

The river Thames is very convenient for the tiardtional method of clearing Augeian Stables.I don’t believe that MPs really understood the way in which the FOI would apply to personal data mine wrote to me earlier this year under the impression that, somehow, MPs were being singled out when in fact they have more protection than other public body employees.Had the heavily redacted receipts been released later this year as intended, quite a few of the more serious revelations that are now coming out would have been hidden including flipping .What I find particularly annoying is that the vast majority of MPs do not seem to get how wicked they have been and how appalling their behaviour. The majority of them seem to have broken the rules in the sense you or I would understand the term, but they persist in denying this.I am sure you, like me, have plenty of experience of the way people claiming housing benefit or paying tax are treated when they make mistakes . They are treated that way because MPs have legislated that they should. Such double standards make it hard for me to believe that any of them are really honest human beings. The idea that its only some MPs is also nonsense. The extent of the abuse must have been common knowledge within the house yet nothing was done about it. It took the actions of and others to start to expose the mess.

So sad to hear you had a rough week. It is heartbreaking when people you built a relationship with betray you. I’ve been dealing with something similar. I’m not sure of your situation, but I’ve been hearing negative words toward sharing my love for Him & it really hurts not only for me, but I hurt for them. :/ Hope you feel better about things soon. xoxoLauren recently posted..

This has been happening to me for years. Not only in stores but in cities that I’m visiting. It doesn’t matter what I’m wearing either. I was in a little antique store wearing a wool blazer and tie and was immediately asked for help by a couple of women in their fifties.I’m always happy to help. Sometimes if I see someone looking through books or wine or what have you I’ll go over an offer assistance. “Is this wine for you or for a gift?”We’re all in this together.

“After a bit, Henry interrupts her to mention that he’s Lebanese.”Like she’s never watched, and enjoyed, the Danny Thomas show. Like she’s never pictured herself as “that girl”. Just remember, without Marlo Thomas, there would have been no Marlo Thomas, and where would we be then? Probably saving quite a bit on lost hats, anyway.
