Last baby watch 2008 update

July25

I had my last OB appointment yesterday. No progress. Still only 1 cm. So I have to go in Monday night so they can try to soften my cervix before inducing labor on Tuesday morning. I’m not excited about the extra night in the hospital but I did learn that they have wireless net access in the rooms so I will be reading blogs, emailing, and writing posts about how bored I am. Lucky you guys! You won’t have to wait and wonder what is happening. I can tell you all about the gross lime jello for dinner and the mean nurse who couldn’t find a vein right after it happens!  And of course either Steve or I will update after Tessa’s arrival as soon as we have a few minutes.

My mom arrives late tomorrow night.  She’ll be here to hang out with Miss Sabrina while the action happens.  And I still don’t have a hospital bag packed.  Now I’m off to spend my last full day alone with my little monkey.

Wishing you so much luck Monday night and Tuesday. Use Monday night to rest and get ready. Your body is about to go through a lot of work.

Crazy what happens here on the internet. I keep telling my “real life” friends and family that “my friend” is having a baby and I am so excited. They are all like, “huh? who?” So grateful to have been updated on your journey and look forward to the new chapter.

Just in case I don’t get to comment again before Tessa enters the world…. I’m wishing the best of luck.

It still find it hard to believe you’ve come this far. I’ve “known” you from ‘way back when’ on the about.com preconception board… I can still remember when you entered the adoption thread and I followed your story and then your blog. WOW!

Congratulation to you, Steve and Sabrina. May only the best be had for each of you.

I hope that you have a great day today with just Sabrina! I’ve never commented on your blog, but I wanted to let you know that I think your posts about pregnancy are the greatest thing ever, especially now that I’ve joined the club of pregnancy after adoption. You are so honest about what it is really like, and hysterically funny at the same time. I look forward to seeing pics of both your girls together!

    mmmmmm, lime jello…

It’s so surreal, isnt it? Life is about to change so hugely for you…and we’re talking about lime jello.

    Enjoy. All of it.

    Even the jello.

Congrats and enjoy your last day alone. You’re life will be very chaotic for awhile, but it will be wonderful. I hope everything goes quickly and as easily as possible on tuesday. Makes me think of my last days with Lilly and Emerson and Lucas’ delivery. hmm to think that Lucas is almost 1 is unbelievable. Time will pass too quickly. Enjoy Tessa while she’s little.

  19. On July 25th, 2008 at 1:37 pm Priscilla Says:

oooh, hospitals always have that good ice that is easy to crunch.(trying to be positive!)

I know you will do great and I’m rooting for all 4 (whee!) of you guys from MA.

    Rock on, my friend!

  20. On July 25th, 2008 at 2:05 pm Hadyn Says:

Cool. Bring on the epidural. And seriously, try to enjoy the peace and quiet before and after Tessa’s birth. I still look back on those few days in the hospital with sweet fondness because they really were restful – there were no dishes to do, no dinner to prepare, no laundry to fold, and no diapers to change (at least not in toddler size 4). God bless you as you welcoem Tessa to this madcap world 🙂

It seems like you just announced you were pregnant! I will be thinking about you all. When I brought Timothy home I cried and cried because I was afraid I couldnt take care of all three children. Eric said “just think of Mrs. Walton taking care of all those kids”—-ha.
