Phoning it in

August3

I’m still trying to figure out how to give Sabrina the attention she needs and deserves and feed Tessa when the mood strikes (much like inutero, the mood strikes often) while occasionally getting a little sleep myself so some photos until I finish writing a couple of posts I’ve been tossing around.

Abuela left this morning. Sabrina is very sad – she had a great time with “Abella”. Abuela did manage to spend a little quality time with Tessa too.

Sabrina is still not sure what to think about Tessa but she always wants to know where she is what she is doing. She usually then wants to pet her head like she does the dog’s.

Daddy steals some time with Tessa on the rare occasion that mommy puts her down.

Tessa has a good stack of sleepers and clothes but little that actually fits her since she is such a little peanut. A friend sent this tiny little sleeper and it fits her perfectly. The little ballerina slippers on the feet just make me melt. Seriously, I held a 5 minute discourse last night on just how intensely cute her little feet were in this sleeper. Steve laughed at me and walked away muttering something about hormones and evolution working perfectly at ensuring the continuation of the human race.

The little ballerina slippers are adorable. I like how Tessa pointed her toes for the picture.

Those ballerina slippers are the cutest thing I have ever seen and I just spent 5 minutes staring at them thinking that if I had seen that sleeper in a store I would have bought it in every single size they had.

The slippers are cute. Take heart in knowing that it will get easier. I know from experience. I was in your shoes almost a year ago. Now my three are running around playing together. A lot will change in the next year. I love that my 3 play together now, but I still miss the baby stage at times. Make sure you take time to enjoy it.

I’m thinking that patting Tessa’s head like the dog is better then hitting her over the head with a toy. (not like I would know what that is like since Alex was SO good with the baby!! 🙂

Love the sleeper – Tessa is so cute.

I only had J to worry about when he was an infant so when he slept my decisions were do I eat, sleep or shower. I will tell you that shower always came in last!! I never left the house…what did it matter.

I hate to say it, but the breatfeeding thing is the thing that really makes it hard. Are you pumping at all? Because then Steve could take over some feedings and give you a little more freedom. I didn’t pump because I figured since hubby is gone all the time I would be doing all the feedings anyway so why bother. But looking back, it would have been a huge help on weekends when he was home. Consider it if you aren’t doing it.

she is a gorgeous little baby; and, she’ll be stretching the ends of and growing out of those ballerina slippers before you know it!

  11. On August 3rd, 2008 at 5:40 pm Kelly Says:

It took a couple of weeks for me to get used to sharing the love. Hubby was with our oldest ALOT during those weeks, sometimes to the point that I kinda felt left out! You’ll figure it all out, especially once Tessa figures out her feeding schedule!

The ballerina feet are oh so cute. Enjoy b/c she wont be in that sleeper long (or there will be a little toe hole through the slipper) 🙁 they grow so fast!

How sweet! Sabrina looks like a happy big sister!

    So precious.

Be sure to take it easy now that Abuela is gone. You’ll find your stride as a mommy of TWO. It’ll probably just take a bit more time yet. Would Sabrina be interested in “helping” you take care of Tessa? Getting you diapers and supplies and stuff like that. I have heard that some older siblings feel more included that way but she might be a little young to “get” that yet.

  20. On August 3rd, 2008 at 8:11 pm Cathy Says:

    Michelle, she is just lovely!

  21. On August 3rd, 2008 at 8:54 pm Bobbi Says:

YOu two sure do make a lovely baby. She is a beautiful newborn. AND, the slippers are just perfect.

Please make sure to not overdo. you have been through a lot. If you don’t it will catch up with you, and then it will be that much worse to recover. Sabrina and Tessa just need your love, and the rest will fall into place. AND, sleep, well it is overrated anyway.

You all look very happy and proud. I do admit to blog stalking for pics. Thanks for sharing so many.

We have similar sleepers for Izzy. She is so adorable in the sleepers. Every night Dave’s home for bedtime he always comments on how cute she looks in those sleepers.

Tessa is adorably cute. I’m sure Sabrina will warm up to her as Tessa grows a little bit.

What a cutie she is…seriously, most newborns look like they have been stuffed up someone’s belly…LOL, but she doesn’t! I think it will be so much fun when she can start to play with Sabrina!
