Reality
I remember when I was planning to become a stay at home mom. I was searching for some hobbies because I didn’t want to get bored. Bored! Isn’t that cute?
Reality is that it is Thursday night and I’m finally giving up on ever reading the Sunday paper so I am throwing it away.

Steve and I are planning a night out to celebrate our anniversary while my mom is in town this weekend. We thought perhaps dinner and a movie.
Dinner and a movie used to be a pretty normal Saturday night. Now it is a BIG! NIGHT! OUT! And we realized while talking about it that we would have to eat with the senior citizens at the early bird special in order to catch a movie early enough for us both to stay awake through the whole thing (i.e. make it home before 10).
I know exactly what you mean! My mom was in town last weekend specifically so Tony and i could go out, and i fell asleep by 730!! HA HA HA…it’s hard work being a Mom!
I hear ya…After I put Elizabeth down (at 7pm) it’s a race to see how soon I can get myself to bed!
Amazing isn’t it! We always talk about how 2 years ago we had a ton of free time and now can’t barely get things done at all. Heck 3 years ago we had no clue we would even be adopting. Life sure has changed:)
lol ohhhhhh yes been there, sister! (well, kinda still am there!)
hahahahaha….I know what you mean. Have fun on your Big night out!
LOL! Just us making it to Burger King for lunch without the kids is a BOG NIGHT OUT around here! So, I’m totally feeling you!
Perhaps lunch and a matinee would be more your speed.
Happy Anniversary!
Amy
Isn’t it sad? I have a rather big (30) birthday in a few weeks and wanted to go out to see my friend (with no kids) sing with her band. I think we may pass on it though because it will mean being out too late (past 10) and then still having to get up for the middle of the night feedings…isn’t grown up life great!!! 🙂
You mean you don’t get bored? Hmmm. Just wait for someone to ask “So, what do you DO all day?”
Sorry, but I’m just very happy to read that other people really do understand my life. Having a trustworthy babysitter for an evening and going out with hubby is huge – even when we’re typically back by 10.
Maybe you can take a nap today to get rested up:>) I am so with you. We do the same thing. I think it is a sign of aging too. We are going out to a dance next weekend, and will be out until almost midnight. I am going to be dead the next day!!
Hope you have fun and enjoy yourselves. Gotta love grandmas!!
what movie?
I know what you mean. I’ll be a SAHM in 2 weeks. We haven’t been out in a long time and I’m hoping that we’ll be able to go out more once I’m at home. I’m still trying to figure out if there’s something that I can realistically do from home.
Well, ever since Tonya e-mailed that you were in labor (I didn’t even know about the husband!) I’ve checked into your blog and this is one that definitly warrants a comment! I read the TR, usually 3-4 days worth at a time, never the day it is actually printed. As you know, this isn’t difficult and doesn’t take much time. Hard to believe those BBBS days are so long ago, but I still see Vi often as she has roped me into being on the Camp Buckeye board! Hang in there and enjoy them. It goes TOO fast! My babies are 17, 14 and 11.
