Martha would be appalled
November 28th, 2008Our tablescape for this year’s Thanksgiving celebration:
It was just us this year. My mom came down with the flu so she stayed home. So we kept it casual. The food was great – except the stuffing which is unusual because I make (in my humble opinion) kick ass stuffing. The turkey was moist and the gravy was exceptional. I enjoyed the first glass of wine I’ve had since last Thanksgiving. I found out 1 year ago today that I was pregnant and a drama filled 9 months ensued…so we had much to be thankful for this year.
So Martha may not have approved of our tablescape (with the cutest centerpiece ever) but tell me this bird isn’t pretty enough to make her proud:
Hope you all had a fabulous, turkey filled day! And for those of you nutty enough to go shopping at 4am this morning – go take a nap. Then tell me about the great deals you found.

HA! Love the centerpiece! And I just did a post about Black Friday. Once upon a time, I was one of those crazy 4AM folks. Now I value my sleep too much. Plus, there isn’t anything I need or want THAT MUCH to get up and into that madness so early!!
🙂

Cutest centerpiece ever! And that turkey looks delish!!!

I think that you should submit that to Martha Stewart. If she doesn’t think you have the cutest centerpiece ever, then she should go back to jail! Glad you had a nice day. Simple is good with little ones

That is hilarious!!!! But, yeah, that bird is pretty darn impressive looking. You just want to pet it or something, it’s so pretty!

I have heard that Martha Stewart actually eats babies, so…

Gosh, you could’ve at least taped a feather or a harvest leaf on that centerpiece.. :))))
That’s a well-deserved glass of wine, I would say…I had champagne. Its become a T’day tradition since the year we found out we were in PGN the week of T’day.
I did black friday, but I didnt get up till 6. And I got everything I wanted to get. Out of the house by 6:20, back home by 1pm with all shopping done!

She’s so cute! Hope you all had a great weekend. I didn’t brave Black Friday either but I did snag some gifts for my nephews on Amazon.

Seriously, you should email that photo with ‘title’ to Martha Stewart. It’s adorable & if nothing else, she’ll get a good chuckle. Sweet. 🙂

What a perfect centerpiece…a baby on the table! LOVE it! Casual holidays are almost always the best in my opinion.
