We may skip crawling
Tessa doesn’t seem inclined to crawl. She only goes backwards when she tries and it really pisses her off when she ends up under the coffee table instead of capturing the ball she was wanting to crawl toward. She gets around (albeit slowly) by scooting. She sits on her butt and bounces. With each bounce, she uses her feet to pull herself forward.
Today, she and Sabrina were playing on the floor. Sabrina, being the typical bossy big sister, likes to take away Tessa’s toys and dangle them just out of her reach. Tessa tolerates it briefly.
And then she starts to give me this look and I know it is time to redirect Missa Sabrina to find her own toys.
Today they were playing and Tessa scooted herself over to the extra dining chair I have sitting in the living room. Sabrina tried to tell her she wasn’t allowed to touch it because it is Sabrina’s chair (as is everything else in the house according to her). Sabrina climbed up. I didn’t have the camera ready but Tessa pulled herself halfway up. Her butt was off the ground and I was almost sure she was going to stand up. I couldn’t get her to repeat it for the camera.
Sabrina is quite adamant that all photos taken should be of her. This is what I got when I first pulled out the camera to try and get a photo of Tessa scooting:
And Sabrina would like everyone to know “I like Dora bike!”
We have that Dora bike, too! The stickers fell off almost right away…I hope they made them stickier since last year. Now I know you were supposed to be taking a picture of Tessa scooting but the close-up of Sabrina’s eyes is quite nice…her eyes are beautiful(and you didn’t have to worry about the bangs getting in the way, either).
Tie a weight to Tessa’s butt so that she can’t do that anymore…slow her down a bit.
Who needs crawling? Eliana didn’t learn to crawl until after she could run.
Kids:cute as ever
She’s riding the bike yeah!!!!! Tessa will be walking in no time. Get out of the tub!! ha,ha
Our pediatrician told us that there are actually 26 recognized forms of “crawling” and scooting on your behind is one of them. So, Tessa is already “crawling” in her own way. She probably will go from scooting to walking, like you said. Go Tessa!
We too have the Dora trike….poor Tabitha’s legs can’t reach the pedals yet! She does love to push the buttons to make the music play.
I lovelovelove the age Tessa is now! Having missed that age with X, I was enraptured with all of S’s mobility milestones. Still am. It’s fun watching Tessa grow, and I love the pic of your girls playing on the floor.
Reese scotted for two or more months. It was sooooooo funny to watch!! Boy, could he get around. Pulling up though—look out!!
Cute bike, Sabrina
