Proof that I need to get out more

April15

I’ve been playing around with coupons lately.  There is a whole coupon clipping culture out there that I was completely unaware of – it is strangely fascinating to see women spend $7 for a weeks worth of groceries.  I mostly watch from the sidelines.  Being lazy, I wait for someone else to figure out the good deals and then try to cash in on the ones that are applicable to my life.

The fact that I am posting this is proof that I need to get out of the house more often.  Steve is home with some funky virus so I ran to CVS without kids.  I returned with all of this but spent only $4.90 out of pocket (I had about $5 CVS bucks from last week and a bunch of coupons).  The Neutrogena men’s products were on clearance 75% off and Steve loves these products.

Maybe you have found one!!! We don’t have a CVS, but sounds like they have great deals.

I do ok w/coupons, but not as well as many others.

Cosigned on the whole lazy thing. Couponing seems really labor intensive. So my hat’s off to whoever does it.

    Isn’t it fun?
I’ve been CVSing for awhile and am trying to do more couponing at the grocery store. My problem is that I keep forgetting to buy the sunday paper for the coupon inserts.

PS do you read moneysavingmom.com? She has lists with the good CVS deals and links to the coupons you can print out. Uber-easy.

    dealseekingmom.com is another awesome site.

And um, there was more free stuff to be had at CVS!!!! Free Soft Soap Body wash and colgate sensitive toothpaste(limit 2) is free after ECB this week. There’s a $1.00 coupon for the body wash in last week’s coupon insert.

Next time this happens – call me. I don’t want to join you at CVS but we can meet at Starbucks and each spend $4.90 on a latte. If it is not more fun, then you can go back to coupon clipping.

I’m a SAHM, too, and couponing IS my new hobby. I started in December and have saved our family HUNDREDS of dollars. With 2 kids in diapers, I had to find SOMETHING to help with the finances! Check out http://www.hotcouponworld.com for more help. Also, if you have a Walgreens, there are some fantastic deals there over the next 3 weeks as well.

Keep us posted on your finds! I love seeing the deals people rake in!

Like you, I’ve watched with facination. Finally ventured out to CVS yesterday and discovered some good deals. Divided my purchases into 2 transactions so I would get the Extra Care bucks. But then I only used $1 ECB…got to the car and realized I had another one for $5. UGH. Ticked me off so I’m not sure I’ll try it again!
I’ve been reading the dealseekingmom site, too. There’s some good stuff in there…she pointed me to some sites to print coupons on line.

I SO need to do this!! I’m trying to save up for my mission trip to Guatemala in December so I might have to get serious and clip some coupons! My biggest draw back is that I buy most everything in an off brand and they don’t have coupons for those:(

I think the best deals are at Rite Aid and Walgreens. I don’t think I have actually paid for shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and make-up for a couple years now! The best is when something is free on rebate and then you have a coupon. It’s like getting paid to buy stuff! It’s great! But, it is nothing compared to the real serious coupon bargain hunters!

Great job!! I have tried to get involved in the BIG savings with coupons. It seems the women that take home $100 worth of groceries and spend $5.00 are shopping at places that double and triple coupons…no such place around here. I do use coupons regularly on the things we need and use. My Grandma and Aunt save all their Sunday coupons for me so I dont have to buy the paper!!

If you cross over into the darkside like Catwoman in Texas has, I might have to stage an intervention. You coupon people scare me!

muita vergonha aos católicos brasileiros. É o caso, por exemplo, do Jorge Ferraz, que no post Uganda e CNBB faz uma contraposição entre a política de distribuição de camisinhas e a política da Uganda,

Yes, good luck Richard!Regardless of whether you win, you should ask Jim Meddick what happened to Robotman. It’s an interesting story; it involves aliens and Bill Watterson.
